New iPhone/iPod Touch Interface

Over the past few days I’ve been working on a new interface for the blog when viewing with an iPhone or iPod Touch. The mobile theme is supposed to be optimized for iPhones/iPod Touches and the content is supposed to load faster.   Here are some screen shots of my phone with descriptions at the bottom of each photo of what you are looking at.  btw, my phone is jailbroke, that’s why it looks different.

Home page for www.theorchardsblog.net – You will see this page when you browse to http://www.theorchardsblog.net on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

If you click on the small down arrow towards the right of the Post, you can see the first few lines of the Post.

If you click on the title of the Post, the full Post will open up – you can jump to the Comments by clicking on “Jump to comments” link.

When you are viewing the Post’s comments, you can either leave your own Comment and email a link as well as a couple of other options :)

When back up at the top, you can select the drop down arrow to Login, see the Tags and Categories, you can email me (the webmaster), as well as other things.

Also at the top of the blog you can search for content.

You can easily add an icon to your iPhone by clicking on the small plus sign in at the bottom in the middle – from there, select “Add To Home Screen”.

Check out my icon on my 1st page of icons! (btw, I made that myself)

If you don’t care for the new iPhone/iPod Touch look, you can easily go back to the original look by going to the bottom of any page on the blog and turning the Mobile Theme off. Whether or not you use the new Mobile theme, you can still create the icon on your Home Page (or Spring Board) that will take you directly to the blog when you click it!

Let me know if it works for you… if you like it / dislike it… I appreciate all feedback!
