Vendor Fair and Pool Party on May 19th at the Orchards Park! Hamburgers & Hotdogs!
Orchards Residents:
Food, Fun Jump, Landscaping Vendors of all kinds at the Orchards Pool opens!
According to the Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (aka the CC&Rs), all unlanscaped areas on each owned Lot must be landscaped within one year after the initial owner closes. Until now, the Board has not made significant effort to enforce this requirement, but it cannot put off enforcement indefinitely.
Besides reminding you of the need to landscape, the Board also wants to help you meet that obligation before fines are issued for non-compliance.
On May 19, there will be a vendor fair at the park. We hope to have a variety of landscapers there, professionals to help you decide how to make your landscape vision become reality.
From 10AM until 2PM (possibly later, depending on how many people show up), vendors will be able to answer questions, make suggestions, and make appointments for more personalized attention.
The CC&Rs require Owners to landscape backyards and side yards. The Board prefers acompletion date of September 30, 2012. enTrust will work with each Owner to set aviable and reasonable date…but the first step is to submit a design form.
A representative from the Architectural Review Committee will be there to hand out forms and answer questions.
The Orchards HOA will be providing food on a first come first serve basis – hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. Come out and enjoy the weather and our beautiful park with your neighbors and friends.
See you there!
Why are the gates open so much?
I know there was some gate damage recently but can we please get an update as to why they are open so much?
Pool Construction Complete!
Neighbors,
The re-decking and shade projects are complete – only clean up remains!
Here’s a shot I took yesterday during the final walk-thru.
The pool is being filled as I type and over the next week, the water will be cleaned.
The pool is opening one week early this year!
Wind Damage At the Park
Neighbors,
Last week we had some very powerful winds that took down one of the trees at the park. The landscaping folks are going to be removing it this week.

Progress on the pool decking
Neighbors,
The pool is currently undergoing some maintanence – the tiles around the pool are getting replaced, all the concrete around the pool is being replace and the shade structures are getting some much needed updates. Here are some pictures I took this weekend:
The pool is expected to open on May 19th.

The High Co$t of Vandalism
Neighbors,
The cost of vandalism is rising in the Orchards. We aren’t 4 months into 2012 and we have paid $13,359.00 in gate repairs, lock repairs and graffiti removal. This is a serious problem!
Be on the lookout for suspicious people and report them to the proper authorities immediately – or if you’re like me, you might go ask someone what they are doing.
If you see someone hit the gates, get their license plate number and if you know the home they go to, get the address and report that to EnTrust as well. As a community, we can hold people accountable for damage and make them pay.
Call EnTrust if you have any information on vandalism in our community. If someone is arrested and convicted or a homeowner can be held responsible, you could receive a substantial reward!

Tree Planting
I have a question. Spring is around the corner and Im ready to continue my landscaping project. Im curious to know if I can plant some trees along the sidewalk. I figure that we are responsible for cleaning the sidewalks or the sections adjacent from our acutal yards so why not get to plant some trees or shrubs.
Is this possible?

Security Guards
Does anyone know why there has been a security guard at the gates the last couple of weekend?
Warning – Closing Gates
We just wanted to warn everyone of the uninsured gates at our community. This morning (02/13/12) we were leaving to work and had to stop at the gate because the bus was picking up the kids. Like every morning there is usually a line of vehicles waiting to leave the community. I drove thru and my sister was behind me when the gate hit our truck. It slammed the side mirror and then hit the side of the truck in a few places. When I called entrust to file a report I was told there is nothing that can be done because the insurance doesn’t cover the gate. I was told by Pat that we drive at our own risk and the only solution is to keep the gates open. I can’t beleive we would purchase insurance that doesn’t cover a main part of a “gated” community. How are you supposed to feel safe coming in and out of the community? As much as we love having the gates, maybe we should do away with them.
